23.01.12 - Busy day in Leith devising and developing a multiplatform distribution strategy for ‘Joose’ with help from the clever clogs at XO Labs and Sheffield Doc Fest.  Also met Jane McAllister, Director of ‘Sporran Makers’, today - I’ve been watching that film loads recently.  Classic short documentary.

Also, we’re on a barge.  Wild.

9th-13th January
I’ve been expanding the portfolio this week with meetings in Inverness and Glasgow with a view towards branching out into the fashion world.  I’ve been lucky enough to talk to both new and established designers/labels with a view to providing video content across the fashion spectrum.  Such an exciting and fast-moving environment to be a part of, I’m interested to see where it will take me in 2012!
Also, Spurs are now tied for 2nd in the EPL.  Assou-Ekotto really earning his stripes! #COYS

This week I got my hands on a Canon 60D for a behind the scenes fashion piece with photographer Euan Robertson.  He was shooting on the king of movie DSLRs, the 5DMKII, but the 60D more than held it’s own for the background work.

2nd-6th January || BBC Test Shoot & Joose Redux

The first week of 2012 has been eventful.  With loads of projects piling up across the production, education and exhibition schedule, we’re hitting the ground running; firstly in the edit suite.

During the last week of the school term we shot some test footage with a group of young people at Elgin High School for a potential BBC project in the coming year.  The group were excellent behind and in front of the camera, but with the brief evolving slightly since our last discussion, it will be up to the execs as to whether we’ve found the right fit.  Fingers crossed.

Our second edit of the week is the project that keeps on going!  Since it’s creation in Summer of last year, ‘Joose’ has picked up huge positive feedback; and with the support of Screen HI, we are now remixing the film with an original soundtrack and shorter running time to prepare for a festival distribution plan.  Very exciting.

In other news, I watched ‘Hanna’ over New Year’s and am totally in love with the Chemical Brothers’ soundtrack.  The film is excellent and I recommend you all check it out.
